Richard Cohen Memorial Scholarship
Supporting Future JCC Maccabi Games athletes

The Richard Cohen Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Rich Cohen, a JCC Maccabi athlete and coach who died from colon cancer in 2020 at age 37.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Rich played and coached basketball, about which he was passionate, in the JCC Maccabi Games. Not only did he do what he loved on the court, but he also formed lifelong friendships and memories. The Richard Cohen Memorial Scholarship ensure that other passionate teen athletes who have been accepted to a delegation can have similar JCC Maccabi experiences. If you are still looking for a delegation, please visit the delegation contact page.

Read more about Richard’s JCC Maccabi story on the JCC Association of North America blog.

Applications are now open for the 2024 Richard Cohen Memorial Scholarship for athletes who have registered with a delegation.
